| Gently exfoliating, oil absorbing facial cleanser using charcoal, licorice & soothing sandalwood. |
Lush's coalface is an excellent product for those with an oily or acne prone surface. Since I tend to have more active oils on my skin during the summer I would go ahead and use this product. To those with normal to combination skin– a daily usage is not recommended as it can dry out skin, leaving a trial of dry patches.
Description
Coalface, a bar of soap, but not just any kind of bar of soap– a charcoal cleanser. It contains a rough texture, and since it made of coal it's black. It also contains exfoliating beads to absorb oils. This cleanser has a strong smell of licorice (which I find very soothing) but many aren't to fond of it so it depends on your own preference.

Usage
There are no specific steps but Lush recommends:Start by moistening your face and the cleansing bar with water. Rub the bar in your hands to create a lather. Apply to your face in a gentle, circular motion, avoiding the eye area. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and pat dry. For best results follow with the LUSH toner and moisturizer that best suit your skin type.I personally don't use it with any Lush toner or moisturizer and still get great results.
Pros
- great for oily/acne prone skin
- perfect for summer
- soothing on the skin

- pleasing smell (to some)
- lathers well
Cons
- leaves dry patches if used every day ( I recommend 2 times a day, twice a week)
